Pierre Gasly thinks he knows why his old team, AlphaTauri, did better than his current team, Alpine, at the Mexico GP. Gasly, who is starting 11th, feels that AlphaTauri’s approach to the track gives them an advantage, especially in corners.
Gasly said he’s shared his thoughts with his team, pointing out things that are even noticeable from the onboard cameras. He didn’t share specifics but hinted at clear differences that impacted their performance in the first sector.
Jonathan Eddolls from AlphaTauri mentioned they use a unique setup for this race, focusing more on mechanical grip due to the track’s characteristics. He also noted that the Honda engine performs well at Mexico City’s high altitude, helping their car’s overall performance.
Eddolls feels optimistic about their car’s cornering speed, hoping it will benefit them in tire management during the race.
