Las Vegas is ready to set a record this weekend by becoming one of the coldest Formula 1 races to be recorded, temperatures are expected to drop below five degrees celsius. Will this effect the race?
Formula 1 haven’t had to cope with these conditions for nearly five years when problems occurred back in 2018 when the pre season testing had been effected, while Fernando Alonso was at the top of his game in his McLaren car.
These sort of temperatures will take an effect on warming up their tyres, how will teams set up knowing that they don’t have any High G corners to heat them up? Will this effect qualifying or the race overall in Las Vegas?
Formula 1 has created many records in its history, however for temperatures, one of the lowest temperatures hit 5 degrees celcius in the 1978 Canadian Grand Prix.
Jean-Pierre Jarier won that race by milliseconds, edging out Jody Scheckter.
What team do you think will take advantage of these conditions?
